My home and studio is on the Columbia River in Portland Oregon - it literally floats on the river. It is a house as is any other excepting it has thirty feet of water under it. Living here on the river has put me intimately in touch with the cycles of the seasons.

Surrounded by nature on all sides, otter, beaver and muskrat and even the occasional sea lion visit and the air is filled with the sight and sounds of birds galore. I heat my home and studio one hundred percent with wood - trees and logs - carried on the river's flow. The batteries for the strobes are charged with the power generated by a solar panel on my sail boat. A percentage from every wedding and photo job is loaned to people in third world countries through http://www.kiva.org/, to help make this planet a better place for everyone.

This is who I am. It is what sustains my inspiration as a photographer, it is what sustains my passion for life.

And nothing gives me greater pleasure than having a couple who's wedding I photographed a year or two before commission me to photograph their new child.
